Feather and Fur Animal Hospital, located in the Aikahi Park Shopping Center is the largest contract we have been awarded. We designed and are completing the construction of the new facility. We reimagined what was once an abandoned movie theater to become one of Oahu's most state-of-the-art veterinarian hospitals.

Every detail was accounted for, meeting specific needs of the hospital including:

Isolated heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
A dog park
Expansive windows allow increased natural lighting

Theater

Before Feather and Fur, this facility was once Aikahi Theater (suddenly closed in August 2007). In order to utilize and reimagine this space, it required a blank slate, therefore we completely gutted the interior.

Minor Details

When something can’t be physically removed incorporating it into the room can make it feel like it was supposed to be there all along.

Aesthetics are Critical

Aesthetics set the mood and can make a critical difference on how a room feels.

Dog Playground

Unlike other facilities, we incorporated a dog playground for dogs to relieve themselves, without having to go into the public areas.

Outdoor Details

The details on the outside of the facility help to contribute to the overall feeling and aesthetic—this includes the wood grain and paint, lighting, and the types of metal mesh.
